Description
This October we're featuring food friendly, party friendly wines. The weather is cooling down, so we've chosen an easy-going, but lively Barbera and a Cab Sauv famous for its notes of cherry tootsie rolls. But don't forget - hearty autumnal soups and stews are often begging for a crispy white wine to pair. We've got you covered on that too.
Giuseppe & Luigi Pinot Grigio
Giuseppe & Luigi has become one of our go-to producers for well made, inexpensive wines (their Prosecco is also a house fave!). The Pinot Grigio is dry and crisp, but still brings personality in the form of salty citrus and gentle white floral notes.
La Salita Barbera d'Asti
I'll cut to the chase - Barbera is a perfect pizza wine. That's not the only reason why we included it, but it's pretty close to the top. This wine has relatively low tannins, so it's easy to pair alongside food with a little spice, like pepperoni pizza. Or chili. Or smoked wings. You get it!
Upwell Cabernet Sauvignon
Fermented in stainless steel, this California cab retains its freshness better than many at this price point. Expect deep plum flavors and just a little black pepper. And, like I mentioned - Tootsie Roll Pops.
