The Matthiasson team says Schioppettino tastes as if Pinot Noir and Syrah had a baby, with its aromatic nose of violets and red berries and earthy, spicy flavors on the palate.
This wine has fascinating flavors of white and black pepper and cedar combine with delicate flowers combine and ripe raspberries. It is incredibly fresh tasting, with a stony minerality underlying the cooling flavors. Naturally low alcohol, it has a very refreshing and clean finish. Tons and tons of flavor, yet feather light on the palate.
