Folias de Baco is in the Alto Douro, in the sub-region of Cima-Corgo where the land is very tough and challenging at a higher altitude, but it is an expression of traditional melding with modern techniques. The ‘Uivo Renegado’ is a field blend from 80-year-old vines planted in soils spattered with schist and granite. The 25+ varietals are hand harvested and fermented whole-cluster, followed by fermentation with wild yeasts in large granite lagars. The wine is young, bright, and full of red cherry and strawberry fruit with mouthwatering acidity and a smooth finish. Organically grown,
