My works are an exploration of disorder, influenced by a background in design, where structure and precision meet the impermanence of nature and urban decay. Life in rural Kentucky and dense San Francisco and New York City inspire contrasts between natural elements and layered streetscapes. These abstractions are a way to create tangible and lasting artifacts that counter our myopic addiction to digital waste.
I focus on the interplay of materials, texture and form – working with concrete, graphite, and acrylics to juxtapose layers suggesting creation and erosion. I welcome mistakes to allow each piece to find its own resolve, combining my principled design foundations with more organic, open-ended development.
Each piece explores how chaos and order coexist. Using a restrained color palette and minimalist approach, my art enhances spaces with balance, embracing beauty in imperfection.
